Swarovski Swarovision 8.5x42 EL Waterproof Binoculars for Hunting / Birding

Swarovski EL Swarovision Binoculars 8.5x42 for Hunting and Birding redefine optical clarity, with a razor-sharp image right up to the visual periphery. Swarovski Optics has taken some of the best Binoculars on the market and improved them still further. These birdwatching binoculars incorporate the revolutionary Swarovision Technologyem>, allowing an unequalled image quality in the Swarovski EL 42 Waterproof Binocular. The combination of field flattener lenses and HD optic ensures that these Swarovski Binoculars provide an impressive image resolution over the entire field of view, providing outstanding contrast even when observing at dusk. The high definition, fluoride-containing HD lenses minimize color fringing (chromatic aberration) for contrast-rich images with razor-sharp outlines. As a result, the Swarovski EL 42 Binocular achieves significant improvements in resolution and contrast by comparison with conventional grades of glass. These Swarovski hunting binoculars let you experience completely new insights into nature's world of shapes and colors.

Swarovski Optik built the world's first ever outdoor binoculars with a wrap-around grip which, combined with premium optical quality, immediately won over the most demanding users. Today, ten years later, the long-established Austrian company has optimized its Swarovision EL 42mm Outdoor Binoculars and is setting new standards in optical quality with its revolutionary new Swarovision Technology, innovative field flattener lenses and enhanced coating technology. All over the world, enthusiastic hunters, nature observers, bird watchers, and people who wish to make their travel and leisure activities unforgettable by gaining an individual perspective through high-quality long-range Binoculars, place their trust in the long tradition and uncompromising quality of Swarovski Binoculars.

The Swarovski EL 42 Binocular reaches a level of field focus that has never before been achieved in any binoculars. The field flattener lenses produce a virtually flat image. As a result, even the finest structures and smallest details are reproduced with razor-sharp clarity right up to the image edge. For the first time ever, the observer obtains a perfect image with no annoying distortions. The outstanding image quality over the entire field of view means less refocusing and allows you to identify every detail at lightning speed. The observer’s peripheral vision will be able to see small movements and identify colors and patterns at the edges of the image with greater ease. Eyeglass-wearers also benefit from the full wide-angle field of view due to the large eye relief distance. The enhanced coatings of the lenses and prisms (SWARODUR, SWAROTOP, SWAROBRIGHT) in the new EL guarantee absolutely lifelike color reproduction and outstanding image brightness for spectacular observation experiences even at dusk.

The Swarovski Swarovision EL 8x42mm Binocular also stands out by comparison with other binoculars due to a larger eye relief of the exit pupil. This enables even eyeglass wearers to survey the entire wide-angle field of view and enjoy the EL’s unique edge sharpness. The removable twist-in eyecups are individually adjustable in three stages. In addition to the maximum position (completely twisted out) and the setting for eyeglass wearers (completely twisted in), the eyecups also have a snap-in intermediate stage. The SWAROCLEAN coating on the outer surface of the lens ensures a non-stick effect with obvious cleaning advantage in the case of dirt such as water marks, insect repellents and tree resin. These field binoculars are also completely watertight and fog-proof.

I think I would suggest the 10 power over the 8.5. I know it can't be that much of a difference but I like all the detail I can get while watching birds in my backyard. Pros: Great optics and easy to hold Cons: No cons

Light transmission and the new HD optics fulfill every expectation I have in a pair of hunting (or anything) binoculars. They are extremely comfortable as well. I depend on them, my clients depend on them. Best binoculars I have ever owned! Well done Swarovski! Pros: Too many to list Cons: None

I really stretched my budget to get these and now i am very glad i did. Wow what a difference,my middle priced bins can't come close to the brightness and contrast of the 8x42 SLC HD swarovski. You have to see it yourself to understand what it is like. I hoped that boatload of money would be worth it and it was! There are many choices in this price range and i had to choose one, and for me this one hits the spot! Choose what you like but this one does it for me. Pros: everything Cons: nothing except for price

I was able to try out the Leicas, Swaravskis and Steiners in person. Honestly you could not do wrong with any of these. In my opinion the ergonomics on the Swaros are amazing. The grip is textured and slighly soft, and since there is empty space between the barrels you can easily hold with one hand. I use them almost every day and the optics never fail to amaze me. So bright and sharp from edge to edge. Pros: Perfect optics and ergonomics Cons: Expensive

Compared side by side with a Steiner Nighthunter 8x56 (or 50 mm ?) binocular during the full moon hunts for boar in Poland in October 2011. Results: Swarowski with a smaller 42 mm lens=better light at night. Pros: Best Cons: Expensive
